Playing cards constitute a very peculiar artistic medium that offers endless possibilities for artistic expression, limited only by the presence of repeated and distinguishing motifs and a rigid hierarchical structure.

Each card is itself a microcosm of themes, ideas and feelings, where small inconsistencies in the double-headed images lead to different interpretations of the subject at hand.

When packed together, cards tell a coherent story, and Doncho's job was to create a compelling and visually satisfying narrative. FESTUM "Art is Card" is a compilation of visual essays on a variety of art topics, spanning across different artistic periods and celebrating artists of historical significance.

Finally, the cards and packaging are made using FSC-certified (Forest Stewardship Council) paper harvested from legal, responsibly-managed forests.
